For real, networking is crucial in your career development. You really want to start building your network from day 0. Invest in relationships early on, let them bloom into friendships and doors will start to open.

Here's some tips and tricks to set you on your way:

• Identify & Invest in the people you want in your network - Connect with people who have the potential to become long-term collaborators.

• Make the most of Peer Opportunities Eg. Trade Shows, Work events - Put your name out there. Get facetime with top dogs.

• Organise regular catch-ups with your contacts - They stay in your mind, you stay in theirs.
