You would be right if you thought the market has slowed down a little earlier for the summer🤷♂️ 💭

But, don't panic - all is not lost...
I've been in this game 13 years now, and one thing that I have learnt is that the market is reliably boring over it's usual 18m cycles...
The heights are never really quite the Everest you think, and the valleys are never really quite as deep as the sorrow you felt when your first girlfriend binned you off (or was that just me?)
All that is to say, here are 5 things you can do to get match set for what I think will be a busy Autumn:
🍔 Dust off your CV, and make sure it actually sells and sparkles. Stories and numbers sell, so get em down on paper! 13% increase in RoI on promotions, £300k new business won, inflation being passed through. Whatever you have done, study it, know how you delivered it and then get it down on paper in narrative form and quantify the numbers.
🍔Work your network. Call your old colleagues and get a drink in. Call a recruiter ( 🤡 questionable I know). Chat to your boss about your career plans and areas for development. Get a mentor... so many ways to work the people angle and feather your nest for that big opportunity.
🍔 Follow and badger companies that interest you. 🦡 Reach out to: TA teams for companies you like the look of; and line managers you'd like to speak with - link in with them and send them an interesting note that gives them a reason to speak. If they ignore you, follow up twice - once with a voice note, and second time with something witty. Good funnel development = good odds.
🍔 Stack your wins. If you're in no position to move, then prove to yourself that you deserve a better opportunity. And there is no shortcut to this. The only way through is to win, and be a winner. Once you do that, you'll know you deserve success and everyone will smell it on you and want a piece of the action.
🍔 Live a little. Go camping, enjoy a bottle of wine, go see the Hundred and check in with your family and friends. Whatever happens, don't be a dull b@astard like Jack. Jack forgot to play, and really that was his only crime sadly.
